Treaty negotiated by S.S.M.I Claudio Primeiro and Jason Mckerra between the Holy Empire of Reunion and the Republic of Lavalon on the 9th of July 2009.
Treaty of Friendship and Mutual Regard between
THE HOLY EMPIRE OF RÉUNION and
THE REPUBLIC OF LAVALON
WHEREAS it is decided by the authority of the Imperial Chancellor and therefore the good subjects of His Holy, Imperial Majesty, Emperor Cláudio the First, a hand of friendship shall be extended to the Republic of Lavalon, a hand which binds all Réunians to the good people of the Republic of Lavalon in a firm and everlasting handshake of friendship, and
WHEREAS The Holy Empire of Réunion and the Republic of Lavalon agree to use their individual influence to back one another’s position in international affairs on which they are in agreement, and to support each other in all ways which may be necessary, and
NOW KNOW YE Henceforth, to all whom it may concern, be it recognized that the following articles of agreement are entered into in good faith and spontaneously by the governments of the HOLY EMPIRE OF REUNION and of the REPUBLIC OF LAVALON, to wit:
Article 1
The HOLY EMPIRE OF REUNION hereby officially recognizes the Republic of Lavalon as a fully sovereign, independent and serious nation, and recognizes the government established by the Proclamation of the 23rd of July as the legitimate government of the Lavalonian micronation, and recognizes that only those persons or institutions empowered by that government speak on behalf of the Lavalonian people.
Article 2
The REPUBLIC OF LAVALON hereby officially recognizes the Holy Empire of Réunion as a fully sovereign, independent and serious nation, and recognizes His Holy, Imperial Majesty, Emperor Cláudio the First, as Its rightful, legitimate ruler and head of state, and also will recognize the Imperial Chancellery of Réunion as the one and only entity which speaks for the good people of Réunion.
Article 3
There shall be a perpetual state of friendship and non-aggression between the aforementioned States, and both parties shall endeavor to peacefully resolve any issues which may occur to estrange them;
Article 4
The signatory parties shall refrain from opening relations with nations or micronations which show belligerence towards the other nation;
Article 5
The signatory parties shall respect the political and economic endeavors of the other, insofar as these do not infringe their own interests and do not violate international law; they shall also sponsor each other on the desire to join micronational leagues of which one is a member.
Article 6
In the event of international strife, the signatory parties shall steadfastly support the other in any efforts to remain neutral.
Article 7
Should either signatory party learn of a third party’s hostile intent or plans toward the other, it shall be communicated to the other.
