Appropriations (New Years mail out) Act 2009

A bill to authorize expenditure for a New Years mail out to all citizens.

1. The Consul is authorized to draw twenty dollars from the Republic’s account for the purposes of mailing a 2009 New Years letter all citizens.

Appropriations (1 of 2009) Act

An act to appropriate money for the function of the Republic, and to establish the basic parameters for the management of the Republics finances.

Section 1: Generalities

1. [REPEALED] The Repubic shall maintain it’s accounts with Paypal.

2. The Secretary of the Treasury shall present monthly updates on the state of the Republic’s finances to the Senate.

3. No expendature may be undertaken without authorisation by the Senate.

Section 2: Income

1. The Consul’s voluntary contributions shall be levied at ten dollars a month.

2. The government of the republic currently holds twenty five dollars with the microfinance charity Kiva.

Section 3: Expenditure

1. The Government of the Republic is authorised to spend:

a. Eleven dollars a year on the Lavalon.info domain name.

b. Thirty-nine dollars a year on hosting and bandwidth for the Republic’s web presence.

c. Ten dollars on google adwords and facebook ads promoting the Republic.

d. Such monies as are authorised in future appropriations bills.

2. The funds that the Republic holds with Kiva shall be continually reapplied through Kiva to assist businesses in the developing world. The treasury shall make all efforts at involving the public in the process Kiva process.
