Taxation
Being a non-territorial entity, the Republic relies on voluntary contributions to cover it’s operating expenses.
Article 7 of the Proclamation of the Republic authorises the creation of a voluntary levy to assist in covering the expenses of the Government.
vii. There shall be a system of voluntary taxation as determined by the Senate. The consul shall have an extra-ordinary duty to contribute to the expenses of the Republic, levied at no less than ten dollars a month.
In practice the Consul is the only person required to pay taxes.
