Statement concerning Lavalon's vote in favour of the Republic of St Charlie's application to join the League of Secessionist States:

Quote
There has recently been some discussion as to whether the LoSS should admit the Federal Republic of St Charlie as a member, as they have a dog for head of state.

The Republic of Lavalon today votes to approve the application of the Federal Republic of St Charlie.

We would note the following in explaining our vote:

* The LoSS was founded by the Kingdom of Talossa, an entity which claims to be somehow descended from Berbers in Milwaukee, among other things;

* The current Secretary General of the LoSS is the delegate from the Holy Empire or Reunion, an entity which recently joined the Micronational Cartography Society, an organisation that "maps" micronations in a fantasy world called Micras.

The LoSS has at various times included all many of absurd entities. We in the Republic of Lavalon want the LoSS to be a more serious and more useful body for micronations, but we feel that what determines a member states seriousness is ultimately concerns they conduct their affairs.

The Kingdom of Talossa, the Holy Empire of Reunion and the Federal Republic of St Charlie all conduct their affairs with the necessary degree of seriousness and decorum. It is for this reason we have voted to approve the membership of St Charlie, dog and all.
