The Republic of Lavalon has applied to join the League of Secessionist States. The General Assembly of the LoSS is voting on our application now, we should have the result in a couple of days. If we are approved, there will be an important position available, in representing the Republic at the LoSS. If you're interested in a diplomatic posting, drop me an email or private message.

I say that, upon acceptance, we immediately seceed from them! Not just becaue it's funny, but because they pose a grave threat to our republic in the form of a distraction.

I like the idea of trying to engage with the wider micronational community, getting our name out to a wider group of people who might be interested

Then by all means we should secede, nothing will get their attention faster.

We are not secessionist. We should not have a position in favor or against secession. Neutrality should be our official policy.

To the best of my knowledge, the League of Secessionist States is about as Secessionist as the United Nations are United.

Secession is a dirty word. Unity is a friendly world. Just ask the dear leader.

Joining the LoSS was a way of increasing Lavalon's diplomatic reach. If it has outlived it's purpose, we can leave, but at this point in time it suits.

Naturally, if anyone feels strongly on the topic, feel free to go to the Senate and overturn the Consul's decision.
Come on, a bit of conflict between the legislature and the executive would be fun!
