Fellow Citizens,

The Lavalon.info website needs more money. It is on a prepaid plan, I pay a few cents a megabyte for bandwidth and a few cents a day for storage. Instead of passing another adhoc bill to spend money on something, I propose we discuss a budget for 2010.

I will provide some basic info on our costs and income so far. Then we can discuss how we want to spend money, and if we want to try and raise more.

Basically, our expenses are something like this:

Income:

Consul's Dues: $120 a year

Donations: Harry Spooner donated $100 to the Republic last year. We shouldn't rely on his being able to do so indefinitely.

Expense:

Website: $45 a year*

It costs around $3 to make a simple citizenship card and mail it to a citizen.

It costs around $45 to do a mailout to all citizens.

It costs around 50cents a postcard to have postcards made in the same fashion I did last time.

None of this is really reflected in last years budget, as I spent about $300 of my own money on top of what was budgeted by the Senate.

Thoughts?

*At the moment, I pay for bandwidth as we use it, if we attract more visitors or host more content, I have to pay more.

I do think we should create a more formal budget.
