Appointment of Harry Spooner as Minister to North America

Order 001 of 2010 appoints Harry Spooner to represent the Government in North America.

This is not simply a diplomatic appointment, but a wide ranging mission to pursue the policy and interests of the Republic on the North American continent.

What are the interests of Lavalon in North America.  (Just curious, seeing as how I live here.)

To suck your blood! But seriously it is kind of just like an Ambassador job from the way Jason explained it to us last night.

The brief is to represent the Republic in North America. We can't appoint ambassadors as such, a lot of micronations claim to appoint an ambassador to this country or that, but an Ambassador has to actually be received by the head of state of the country they're appointed to.

So instead, I have decided to appoint a Minister tasked with pursuing our interests on the North American continent.

I envisage this as including:
a. representing the Republic at intermicronational gatherings (if any occur),
b. meeting citizens (when the opportunity arises),
c. meeting representatives from other unrecognized nations (micronations etc),
d. promoting Lavalon to the media (should the opportunity arise),
e. recruiting new citizens, and in the future,
f. identifying potential investors.

My ultimate vision for this kind of role is a network of Lavalonian representatives across the world, recruiting new participants, organizing local events and pursuing local opportunities to achieve the Republic's goals.
