The Republic of Lavalon is a micronation, established on the 4th of August 2002, initially in response to the unconscionable actions of the Australian government in relation to asylum seekers.

Lavalon continues as an expression of an independent spirit and a creative mind.

Micronations
A micronation – sometimes referred to as a model country or new country project – is an entity that resembles an independent nation or state in many ways, but that is unrecognised by the world’s governments or major international institutions.

The Republic of Lavalon does many of the things that a “real” nation might do. Whilst we do not control any territory, we are not a game or a ficticious simulation.

The Republic of Lavalon welcomes all participants and all languages. We mostly use English because it’s useful for chatting between people of different languages, but if you don’t find English easy, please use your mother tongue.
